I Am Lost Without My Boswell
A few years ago, Scintillation had the privilege of sponsoring I Am Lost Without My Boswell, an ongoing project to record dramatic readings of the 56 stories and 4 novels of the Sherlockian Canon as written by Sir Arthur Conan Doyle.
Through the audio drama productions of the Sherlock Holmes stories, Boswell breathes life into the written words of Doyle. The dedication and hard work of David Harnois and his team make Sherlock Holmes accessible to all.
From their website, I Am Lost Without My Boswell:
There is the opportunity to make this a real international Holmes adaptation by fans, for fans. Characters in the Canon come from all over the globe, so should the voice actors...I want to do the whole thing; continuity errors, the uncomfortable attitudes towards other cultures, and everything else that comes up in the Canon. My hope is to make a quality product that will appeal to old and new fans alike.
This spirit of camaraderie and friendship, and appreciation of Canon, is the sparking plug behind Scintillation, and we happily share this spirit with I Am Lost Without My Boswell.

From "Boswell" Founder, David Harnois
I Am Lost Without My Boswell is an entirely volunteer-driven effort to produce audio dramatizations of the entire Sherlock Holmes Canon, based out of the Cedar Valley in Iowa. Founded because David Harnois still wanted to play Sherlock Holmes -- after taking a turn onstage as the great detective -- and keep his hair, it has grown to include actors from around Iowa, both coasts of the United States, Canada, and Australia.
The team of Boswell consists of founder/director/"Sherlock Holmes" David Harnois, "Dr. Watson" Jens Petersen, producer Caitlin Hurban, and web designer Margot Taylor. As of this writing, we have completed "A Scandal in Bohemia," "The Red-Headed League," "A Case of Identity," and "The Boscombe Valley Mystery," with production underway for "The Five Orange Pips." The stories are free to everyone to either listen to through the website, or download, and auditions are open to everyone, regardless of experience. This is by fans, for fans. Boswell is sustained by donations from listeners, as well as merchandise available in our store. We are incredibly excited to be sponsored by SoS, and look forward to bringing you the rest of the Canon! |
